The Las Vegas, Nevada event tons of boxing fans have been waiting forever to see is finally taking place this week. The Golden Boy will battle one of the world’s current top fighters, Manny “Pac-Man” Pacquiao. This competition is taking place on the 6th of December in the MGM Arena in Las Vegas.
No doubt that there has been much talk in LV about this match. De La Hoya has dropped down to 147 lbs. to box as a welterweight, and some agree that The Golden Boy might not be as sturdy since the weight drop. Manny has in the past participated one time as a lightweight and wants to compete from now on in the welterweight class. Pacquiao is also the current champ in the lightweight division , and is thought of by many authorities to be one of the best boxers of the moment.
This is De La Hoya’s first excursion back to LV for a match since he took on Floyd Mayweather Jr. in May of 2007. This boxing match is without a doubt a sell-out for the MGM Grand Garden Arena Las Vegas. Sightseers to Las Vegas have reduced lately, but Las Vegas events like this boxing match seem to have a way of attracting people to Las Vegas.
This bout will surely be one for the records as it brings together the two best boxers of this generation in a twelve round welterweight contest. Oscar De La Hoya versus Manny Pacquiao tickets are still available for purchase. If you were to attend only one Sin City event in 2008, this is undoubtedly the LV Event to enjoy.
