Adult Movie’s Big Night in Vegas

Wednesday, September 24th, 2008

Every year since 1984 the adult film world has been enjoying a night off from the sweltering Hollywood movie sets and flocking to Las Vegas, to be honored one night a year for the films they create. The Adult Show Vegas was started to award the actors, actresses, and the folks behind the cameras in the erotic film industry. Their goal is to pay homage to the industry’s promise of erotic originality and free spirit. The Adult Show Vegas is supported and sponsored by Adult Video News which was founded in Chatsworth, California.

The 2008 AVN Vegas was a milestone for the awards show, since they were observing their 25th anniversary. The insanely popular Vivid Entertainment Group took home the most awards in 2008, where they were honored with a handful of awards in a variety of different categories including Best Film and Best Director.

You would think that the only people you would see at this event are busty blondes and toned guys, you would have thought wrong. It is very probable to find porn actresses associating with some very famous Hollywood mainstream celebrities at the AVN Vegas ceremony. A few unlikely individuals who have been seen or even handed out awards in past events include Dustin Diamond, Christina Aguilera, Criss Angel, Carrot Top, Sean Penn, Eddie Van Halen and Dave Navarro among others. Even rappers are involved in the adult entertainment world these days; it has been said that Snoop Dogg and 50 Cent have been investing in adult movies for a while now.

The 2009 Adult Show Vegas will contain over 100 categories with everything from best sex scene to best supporting actress and every other category related to erotic flicks you can imagine. The awards handed over to the winners are called “Woody’s” and the recipients of a Woody are determined by industry equals and other professionals and critics of the adult entertainment industry. Nominees for the AVN awards are required to have movies available for sale in at least 100 retail outlets, and the movie should have been released before the 30th of September of the prior year. The 2009 Adult Show Vegas is going to be held on the 10th of Januaryin the Mandalay Bay Hotel Casino in Sin City.

The Game of Poker is not just for Poker Pros Anymore

Thursday, September 11th, 2008

Poker was a game accessible only in Sin City casinos or from video poker machines, but now it is more in style than ever in Las Vegas, Nevada thanks to the internet and TV.

The popular Venetian Resort Hotel and Casino, is now gambling on the popularity with its new audience-participation show called “The Real Deal!” in its showroom located in the Venetian Resort and Casino, debuting in October.

Their new show will unite comedy and game show elements to entertain its live audience. The audience will also be able to take part in the popular game of Texas Holdem’ alongside the some famous poker stars. There will be prizes for the audience including a chance to win 1$ million.

In “The Real Deal!” the audience will play with players like Doyle Brunson, Phil Hellmuth and Daniel Negreanu. Around 10 of the best poker players in the world have already signed up for the game show about poker. The audience will be able to play along with the 90 minute game thanks to handheld, wireless, touch screen devices located on each seat.

“People who visit Las Vegas casinos want to play poker,” Negreanu says, “but obviously they can’t play in a top poker tournament with the players such as Doyle or Phil Hellmuth. But, in this show, they actually can.” At the start of the show, six audience members will be chosen to sit at the poker table on stage with two pros. Each audience member is then involved in the action by being dealt a unique poker hand on their devices. Everyone in the showroom is then involved in the action with big-screen monitors located on stage.

The show’s creators say that you don’t have to be a pro poker player to participate in the game. There are other ways to enhance your point total, that doesn’t involve the game of poker necessarily. Betting on the suit of the next poker card or trying to guess which state a particular audience member is from, are just some of the ways to come out a poker champion in this game.

The show’s creators are also placing bets on the personalities of the professional poker players to have great moments. Poker players such as Scotty Nguyen, the flamboyant five-time World Series of Poker bracelet winner, definitely definitely knows how to entertain the audience and should provide some memorable moments in this new idea for poker .

Vegas Welcomes Celebs for Opening of New Restaurant

Wednesday, September 3rd, 2008

The world-famous Bellagio Hotel has just unveiled the Yellowtail Sushi Restaurant and Bar and invited some fashionable stars to taste their cuisine. This is the Light Group’s fifth restaurant and their first since they partnered with the Dubai-based Zabeel Investments in February.

The Vegas sushi restaurant attracted stars including Leonardo DiCaprio, Eva Longoria, Charlie Sheen and his wife, Paris and Nicky Hilton, Wilmer Valderrama Michelle Rodriguez, Ryan Cabrera, Marlon Wayans, Shar Jackson, Rick Solomon, Brandon Davis, Playboy Playmate Destiny Davis, and Miss Nevada 2008 Veronica Grabwoski.

The icons were invited to taste the delicacies of Chef Akira Back, a former pro-snowboarder turned “Iron Chef America” competitor. The celebs feasted on such specialties as Tai snapper, Kobe beef tataki , king crab tempura, rock shrimp, big-eye tuna pizza, the spicy tuna strawberry roll, and of course every type of sushi under the sun.
Paris dined on the beef tataki, ordering seconds and even thirds. Eva congratulated Chef Back while drinking non-alcoholic beverages and abstaining from the sushi. Wilmer enjoyed the delicacies of the famed chef and ordered table shots for his entourage.

The stars concluded the evening by mingling on the Vegas hotel’s balcony that overlooks the iconic lake, while the Bellagio’s fountain show was enjoyed by all. A private balcony offers outdoor veranda seating and a panoramic view of Lake Bellagio and its fountain and light show. But the greatest visual luxury is the 25-by-13- foot bronze statue at the entrance resembling the dorsal side of a Japanese amberjack.
